Selfie on Monday evening? Is that even a thing?
If you’re like me, then yes, it is a thing.
My friend and neighbor, Dave Taku, sent me a text last night to see if I was able to hang out.
Given that Dave and I work in the product development space, I do my best to make time for us to connect.
We enjoyed some food and beverages at a newly opened restaurant and caught up on things that matter to friends.
It’s always good to just take a break, strengthen friendships, and maintain community ties.
This is what makes being an Improver so enjoyable, as it lives into our principles and values. As well, it’s a great example of Conscious Capitalism at work.

I had forgotten about what I placed inside a box that I had saved years ago.
The box in question is in the process of being returned to the manufacture with the item I purchased for warranty work.
May I share two lessons?
Lesson 1 – Great products are backed by the people who make them.
In the product development space, rarely do you find a company that warranties their products for “life”.
It carries great risk, and yet, this company does, and I will continue to do business with them.
Lesson 2 – When I worked for the company below, I was excited to be a consultant. However, my technical skills were lacking, and my sales acumen was shameful.
My time with the company was not as productive as I would have liked. I learned more about what not to do than what to do working at a product company.
Because of my learning from years past, I am the consultant and technologist I am today.
None of my “less than desired” experiences has gone to waste.
Would you think about this the next time you feel like you’re failing?

Working with generative AI has opened my mind to a possibility.
Might we be missing an opportunity to ethically augment our skills so that we achieve a competitive advantage in product development?
I’m asking because I solved a client problem and created a point solution in the process.
This might not have happened.
It did happen because I used gen AI as a business user. It generated useful Python scripts that evolved to get closer to the desire outcome I wanted them to achieve.
If we safeguard intellectual property and make our work generic, we could find ways of prudently using AI.
