Rather than wait for some organization to mandate learning, I embrace it and the new opportunities that open with it.

How much fun do you have with colleagues outside of work?

That answer is, “it depends.” Sure, it’s easy to do lunch or host happy hours. IMO, those are quick wins.

Maintaining high performing teams is more challenging. It takes deliberate planning and a financial commitment as well.

I highlight life at Improving for a reason. It is one of the few places I have worked where we’re serious about fun.

Product development is difficult work. We need to rely on creative and rational thinking to solve difficult, complicated, and complex problems.

As a result, we need time to recharge, relax, and rest. Changing activities, surroundings, and dynamics helps our brains surface options to address challenges.

What neuroscience do we have to back up how fun and play help us solve problems? Please help me with this by commenting and sharing below.


Yesterday, I headed south near the close of my workday.

The enjoyment I get attending podcast recording is delightful. Being in the studio while Trevor Houston and Mark Elder recorded another episode of the ClearPath Wealth Strategies | Who Ya Know Show is a treat.

Their guest was Ken Coleman who discussed his new book.

Seeing the folks a Real News Public Relations produce shows is something to experience as well.

Considering these are local businesses doing business together, it demonstrates how powerful community can be. It also shows how Conscious Capitalism can be practiced as well.
